Proposal for a virtual monument
as environmental light sculpture

These temporary MONUMENT OF LIGHT is based on personal experiences starting with a visit of the construction site.
I presented my SKYLADDER light sculpture proposal to the NY and NJ Port Authority in 1982 with the help of Charlotte Morman while installing LASERVIDEO for Nam June Paik's exhibition at the Whitney. Making my laser certificate at the Health and Safety Department in the WTC, I further developed the original sculpture connecting both towers into space.

My proposal creates a temporary symbol by projecting the contours above the actual site into the sky, reaching into space:

Daytime
2 x 4 Solar tracking mirror arrays with cornerstone reflectors, gratings and photovoltaic panels, storing energy for nighttime sculpture.
